Job Title:    Business Engagement and Marketing Coordinator (Full-time Permanent) 

Reports to:         CEO 

Wage:     $50,000 - $60,000 annual salary, plus benefits: extended health & dental, new RRSP matching programdiscretionary annual end of year bonus  

Location:      In-Person at Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce Office 

The Business Engagement & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for strengthening the Chamber’s visibility, credibility, and relevance through proactive business engagement, day-to-day communications, advocacy amplification, and the execution of paid marketing opportunities across the Chamber Network. 

This role ensures members are informed, promoted, and connected while generating value through professional, on-brand communications. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Communications, or equivalent 

  • 5+ years in a similar role; non-profit experience an asset 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, and CRMs; digital-first mindset 

  • Strong communicator with excellent organization, multitasking, and customer service skills 

  • Professional, accountable, and community-minded 

  • Demonstrated attention to detail, efficiency, reliability, accountability, and proactive administrative and project coordination skills are essential. 

  • Ability to work occasionally outside of normal business operating hours to support events and initiatives as required. 

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Business Engagement 

  • Engage directly with members and local businesses through outreach, events, and digital channels. 

  • Execute the Chamber’s ‘Business welcome program’ and find new opportunities to engage with potential members. 

  • Drive the Chamber’s new member sales program. 

  • Serve as a point of contact for member-focused marketing opportunities. 

  • Capture member stories, insights, and business issues to inform communications and advocacy. 

  • Support member onboarding by reinforcing value and participation opportunities. 

 

2. Marketing & Social Media 

  • Manage day-to-day social media activity across all platforms. 

  • Market the Chamber’s benefits to the community to drive awareness and participation in our events and programs. 

  • Create, schedule, and publish on-brand content aligned with Chamber priorities. 

  • Monitor engagement, respond to inquiries, and escalate issues as needed. 

  • Support newsletters, website updates, media releases, and internal communications. 

  • Maintain and execute a rolling content calendar. 

 

3. Paid Marketing & Chamber Network Opportunities 

  • Manage paid digital marketing opportunities for members and partners. 

  • Coordinate content intake, approvals, scheduling, and delivery. 

  • Ensure marketing commitments are met accurately and o time. 

  • Track basic campaign performance and report internally. 

 

4. Internal Collaboration & Support 

  • Coordinate closely with the Operations & Member Experience Manager to align engagement and communications. 

  • Support event promotion, on-site engagement, and post-event communications. 

  • Maintain CRM notes related to engagement, communications, and marketing activity.
