On February 1st, 2025, President Trump announced a 25% tariff on all Canadian imports, a move that is damaging for Abbotsford businesses. The B.C. government estimates that under this tariff scenario, B.C. could see a cumulative loss of $69 billion in economic activity between 2025 and 2028.

The Canadian Chamber of Commerce's Business Data Lab (BDL) estimates the tariffs would cost Americans approximately $1,300 per person annually.
