Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Remembrance Day is going to be different this year. As per Provincial guidelines, those in attendance at the Remembrance Day Service at the Thunderbird square will be by invite only. Those in attendance will be required to show their vaccine passport upon check-in on Veterans Way at 10:15 am. Various wreaths can still be purchased however: there will be no wreath pick up or placing of the wreath at the Cenotaph. A representative from the Legion will deliver all wreaths on day of service and a Cadet will place your wreath on the Cenotaph. During the ceremony, the Master of Ceremonies will still announce the names of local businesses, clubs and other organizations that have purchased a wreath. Please note the cutoff time to order a wreath is November 1st. 20 inch wreath= $75.00 14 inch wreath= $50.00 8 inch wreath= $30.00 Please make a cheque payable to: The Legion Poppy Fund The Legion Poppy Fund exists to assist any person and their dependents that are currently serving or who have honourably served in the Canadian Forces and require assistance with housing, education or various types of counseling. We are encouraging everyone to stay home and watch the televised service through the city website, on Thursday, November 11, 2021 at 10:45 am. Other ways that you can show your support is by wearing a poppy and/or placing a poppy in your window.
